Welcome to the Dog Rose Georgians' website

The Georgian era covers the period 1715-1830 in British history. This is the period during which the first four Hanoverian kings (all called George!) reigned in Great Britain. The period is also known as the 'long eighteenth century'.

The Dog Rose Georgians, formerly the Georgian Group, Shropshire and Marches Regional Branch, was founded in 1993. Until recently it was run by architectural historian the late Julia Ionides and architect Peter Howell and during each year visits are arranged to buildings and places of interest in the West Midlands, Cotswolds and Wales, celebrating the culture and history of the Georgian era.

There is more about the group on about the Dog Rose Georgians.
